Sandy is the CEO of CURVE Sports, a company building a better youth sports system that prioritizes development, transparency, and opportunity for athletes, families, and clubs. He previously founded CEO.works, a leadership and talent consulting firm. Drawing on 30+ years working alongside successful CEOs worldwide, Sandy has codified the practices that drive exceptional performance, and now brings that same rigor to reshaping youth sports for the better.
From 2011 to 2016, Sandy served as an Operating Partner at The Blackstone Group, advising leadership and talent strategies across nearly 100 portfolio companies. Prior to Blackstone, he was Chief Human Resources Officer at Unilever, where he redesigned the company’s global operating framework and leadership system to accelerate performance and capability building.
Earlier in his career, Sandy founded The VIA Consulting Group and held leadership roles at Motorola and Dove Associates. He began his professional life as a line officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, performing sea rescues.
Sandy currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Nord Anglia Education and Prometric.
Sandy holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, an M.A. in Human Development from George Washington University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. He has served on the boards of INSEAD, Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University), The European Academy for Business in Society (Vice Chairman), and BBH Advertising. In 2015, he was inducted as a Fellow by the National Academy of Human Resources.
